The way our Virtual Mediation Lab works, it gives mediators the opportunity not only to practice and improve their mediation skills with other mediators around the world. But it also gives them the opportunity to learn more about mediation methods and concepts they didn’t know (enough) about – with the help of some Guest Speakers.
Let me give you an example.
Earlier this year, during our first simulations with Italian mediators, I realized that some of them didn’t know what transformative mediation means. Thus, I asked them to find out and put me in touch with 2 of the few mediators who teach and practice transformative mediation in Italy.
Within a few weeks, both of them graciously agreed to be interviewed by me via Skype to explain the basic concepts of transformative mediation and its differences with facilitative mediation.
Thanks to Skype and Virtual Mediation Lab, we can easily do the same with many other guest speakers who are experts in any topic which is relevant to mediation. We can invite them to visit our Virtual Mediation Lab, interview them, and make their knowledge available to mediators around the world.
Do you know any of them? All they need is a PC, Mac or Ipad.
PLEASE NOTE – We no longer use Skype for our Virtual Mediation Lab online mediation simulations. To learn why, sign up for our 1-hour Introduction to Online Mediation with PC Mac and Mobile Devices. One of the topics we cover during that training is “How to Choose a Video Conferencing Software for Online Mediation”.
