Skype – Why (Besides Mediators) Also Psychiatrists and Psychologists Think It’s a Good Idea

In his article Skype Revolutionizing Mental Health Care, Dr. Keith Ablow explains why doctors all over America are now meeting with their patients via Skype, instead of in person.

Dr. Ablow also believes that “Research studies comparing Skype sessions to in-person sessions would, of course, be welcome.”

We couldn’t agree more. That’s exactly what we are doing in our Virtual Mediation Lab:

  • Comparing online mediation and face-to-face mediation
  • Understanding better for which disputes (or mediation stages) one might be more effective than the other
  • Learning how mediators can integrate face-to-face and online mediation in their practice

PLEASE NOTE – We no longer use Skype for our Virtual Mediation Lab online mediation simulations. To learn why, sign up for our 1-hour Introduction to Online Mediation with PC Mac and Mobile Devices. One of the topics we cover during that training is “How to Choose a Video Conferencing Software for Online Mediation”.
