Review of Video Conferencing Software for Online Mediation – Which Software Works Best for Online Mediators

On August 15, 2013 and Virtual Mediation Lab announced a new project, whose results will be useful to anybody who is interested in online mediation, and will be presented in November, during Cyberweek 2013.

Called “Review of Video Conferencing Software for Online Mediation”, this project consists of 2 steps:

  1. To test different video conferencing software — like Adobe Connect, Google Hangout, Skype, GotoMeeting, Webex, Zoom (Pro version), Fuze Meeting, ooVoo, and so on — using a list of criteria that any video conferencing software for online mediation is expected to meet: for example, easy and simple to use for setting up and switching between joint and private sessions; intuitive user interface, good video and audio quality, secure, pics/docs/screen sharing, annotation, online whiteboard.
Our tests will be carried out by a group of participants from around the world, who will be connected with their PC, Mac, Ipad, Iphone or Android device
  2. To grade – from 1 (Poor) to 5 (Excellent) – how each software met our list of criteria during its test

As a result, we are seeking volunteer participants – ADR/ODR students or mediators – who are interested to participate in our tests, and will fill out an Online Exit Survey at the end of each test. Keep in mind that:

  • Tests will take place at 7:00am Hawaii Time. To convert Hawaii Time into your time zone click here
  • Each test will take approximately 30-45 minutes
